2023 Assessment Information
Year 8 Elective Subject Selections
Year 8 students will be given information booklets to help them make their elective choices for Year 9 and 10 after the June/July break.
Parents are encouraged to discuss these choices carefully with their child as they will study them for the next 2 years. Students should choose electives based on their interest and ability. A student is more successful if they enjoy the subject and feel they can do well in it. Please take the time to read the booklet and ask questions if needed.
Please select subjects in order of preference. We organise the subjects based on the students' choices and try to accommodate these as best we can. However sometimes a course cannot run or clashes with another and so the order of preference is important for us to know.
Some electives have subject fees that are compulsory. These fees pay for the products consumed by the student during the course. Please take this into consideration when choosing electives.
No subject in Years 11 and 12 has a prerequisite requirement, although some languages are continuous courses. In essence this means you can choose new courses for Year 11 and 12 and you won't be disadvantaged if you didn't study them in Year 9 and 10.
Selections need to be completed online and signed by a parent as part of this process.
