Year 10 SALSA Leaders Launch 'Youth Voices' Initiative!

Our incredible Year 10 SALSA leaders have been working hard to develop and implement their SALSA Youth Voices initiative, an exciting program designed to boost physical activity among high school students. Their idea, Get Fit Fridays, introduces a new sport or activity each week to inspire students to get moving during Friday lunchtimes.

The leaders recently presented their concept to local doctors and health professionals at Westmead Hospital, receiving fantastic feedback and support. Today marked the official launch, with Just Dance kicking things off in the air-conditioned TLC. It was wonderful to see so many students getting involved, having fun, and staying active - even on a hot day!

We can't wait to see what activities the SALSA leaders bring to our Fridays next!

Sporting Excellence

Term 4 wrapped up with an exciting week of Grade Sport Grand Finals and we are incredibly proud of all our teams for their hard work, determination and sportsmanship throughout the season. Model Farms was represented in five Grand Finals:

Open Girls Netball, 15s Girls Netball, Open Boys Touch Football, Open Boys Cricket & Open Girls Oztag.

It was a successful day of competition with our Open Girls Oztag, Open Boys Touch & Open Boys Cricket teams all coming away with well deserved wins. Both Netball teams fought hard right until the final whistle, showing great resilience and teamwork.

Congratulations to all the coaches and players on a fantastic season. We look forward to an even bigger and better year in Grade Sport in 2026!

Agriculture

Model Farms High School features a well-equipped Agricultural Plot with orchard, poultry, vegetables, beef, alpacas, goats and sheep.  Students can choose formal Agriculture courses in Stage 5 and 6, engaging in hands-on farm activities. This study develops skills in plant care and animal husbandry, preparing them for a range of future career options.

Fame at the Farms

Fame at the Farms is a showcase of musical and dance performance. This year Fame at the Farms celebrated 31 years of showcasing our school's exceptional talent. This event highlights the remarkable range and depth of skill among our dancers and musicians.

School Leadership

Model Farm High School offers a diverse range of leadership opportunities for students to develop their skills and contribute to the school community. The Senior Leadership Team provides a platform for senior students to support school initiatives and represent their peers in decision-making processes. Prefects at Model Farm High School uphold school values and assist in maintaining a positive and respectful environment. Sports Captains lead their teams with enthusiasm and sportsmanship, inspiring fellow students in various athletic pursuits. The Student Representative Council (SRC) empowers students to voice their opinions, plan events, and drive positive change within the school.
